Saaransh Pandey honed his leadership and technical skills during a summer internship at the Aeronautical Systems Incorporated (ASI).
Pandey’s worked in the role of Logistics Information Technologies (LIT). This focused on developing and deploying AI features to enhance ASI-LIT’s platform. “My key projects included System Identification by National Stock Number (NSN), linking NSNs to specific system platforms (e.g., F-16), and enhancing and deploying the Similar NSNs Search tool via Azure Endpoints,” Pandey explained. “This enables users to quickly identify similar NSNs and access their award history, streamlining a previously manual process.”
The internship at ASI gave Pandey the opportunity to lead a team through Spark sessions, which transitioned to opportunities for collaboration. Pandey also guided the team on projects such as the RAG Search tool using an LLM-based model to extract insights from CRS reports. In addition, Pandey developed a semi-supervised model for the Competition Score Predictor to assess NSN bidding competition. “These sessions helped the team overcome technical challenges and stay on track,” Pandey explained.
Following the success of these projects, “I was offered an extension to continue working through the fall semester, focusing on AI/ML feature refinement and customer engagement,” Pandey said, emphasizing, “This experience has been invaluable in honing my leadership and technical skills, aligning perfectly with my career goals in data science and analytics.”
