From Left to right: Sida Chen, A.J. Geers, Ella Klein, Vishal Venkatesh, and Zhaoze Wang led the October 21st master’s to PhD panel discussion. As Penn Engineering alumni, panelists shared candid, thoughtful, and humorous accounts of their research journeys to current EE and SE master’s students.
Throughout, panelists explained what led them to pursue a doctorate as well as why they chose to remain at Penn Engineering. They described how their experiences with internships, writing the master’s thesis, and conducting lab research deepened their technical skills. Panelists also imparted PhD admissions advice both at Penn and other research universities.
